Lund Pre-School has been an established childcare facility since 1969 and the Pre-School is fully OFSTED registered for full day care. Children from the age of two can start Pre-school and children in receipt of the Government “Nursery Education Vouchers” are entitled to do so at this setting please follow link for more information.

The main aim of Lund Pre-School is to offer affordable quality childcare for families in the surrounding areas. The main priority is “Learning Through Play” which is the Pre-Schools motto. Young children learn through informal activities and the Pre-School staff support the children in play activities which interest them.
Lund Pre-school is based at Newton with Clifton Village Hall, which has recently been modernised and is more than adequate for a childcare setting. The Pre-School is a modern setting with many new fixtures and fittings which make a pleasurable environment for both adults and children.
All the staff are local, friendly ladies who are Qualified and Experienced in working with children. The staff are also First Aid trained and are all CRB cleared to work with children.
The Pre-School has expanded to offer lunch time care and afternoon care due to the changing needs of parents. The Pre-school is also offers an enclosed outdoor play area which the children access on a daily basis. This is a big advantage as new government legislation (Early Years Foundation Stage – EYFS) which comes into force in September 2008 advises that all children must have access to outdoor provision on a daily basis.
Lund Pre-school is also unique as it offers holiday care. Many Pre-Schools close during the school holidays, however the managers of Lund Pre-school applied for a Sure Start grant. They were successful in this bid and have now opened Newton Holiday Club which offers care for children aged 3 -11 years.
