Weeton Gala at the Weeton Village Hall 2009

The morning of the weeton Gala on July 7th was cloudy but fine. from early morning members of the community started arriving in very different modes of transport.Some came on foot,some came in cars. Len came in his tractor and Michael came on his 4x4 grass machine.All the volunteers got started on making the day a huge success. The man in the white van arrived, known to us better as Cllr Pounder and his big top. Work progressed at an eager pace .In the afternoon the Village bulged with visitors from nearby village..The event  Was well attended.People from near and far watched the colourful procession make its way through the Village to the Playing fields.Once their the crowning took place and the new Queen declared the Gala open.
